Sphynx Studies

Some kitty cat studies. I chose sphynx cats today because the lack of hair makes it really easy to see the twisting and turning dynamics. Very cool cats.

Melody Costume Line Up

My character Melody Harper, in a few various outfit possibilities. She's usually in the first one, the skirt and the bodice, or something similar to that. And she's usually got a frying pan or a meat cleaver to hand.
This was incredibly fun to do. I plan to do more like it.

Tarzan Sketches

Every so often (almost once a month) I have a Tarzan kick. I've watched that movie more than any Disney animated film. It's beautiful and the artwork never ceases to amaze me. The last couple of days I've been practicing drawing Tarzan. I'm not used to drawing exaggerated characters. So, though I'll never be going into animation or focusing on drawing characters like this, drawing Tarzan is a good exercise for me. It's helped me loosen up a bit and it's fun! I've been using screen caps as reference (I can draw him from my head, but he's too realistic and always a bit off when I do) so this is practice! Enjoy. Comments welcome.

Rearing Geldling Sketch

Sketched in Photoshop with my tablet. Reference used with permission from photographer.
This took about four hours on and off. I just have missed drawing horses, and drawing in general. I haven't done much lately except doodle, so this, though it is just a sketch, is a finished sketch! So I count it as a big accomplishment lately.

Matrim Cauthon

"Matrim Cauthon"

I'm reading the Wheel of Time series, by Robert Jordon, and it's awesome and amazing. Naturally, fan art arises. :) I'm hoping to do more. I love the characters so much!

Mat is just awesome. So, here is Mat.

Sketches 1

I love sketches. In some ways I find them more interesting to look at than finished work. They give one a window into how an artist works. So, here are some of mine, starting with most recent, done today in about 20 minutes, the Joker, as a request from a friend.

"Andalusian Stallion" From my head one day, no reference. Hb Graphite. I can't remember how long.

"Joker" for a friend.

"Jack and the Goat" Micron Pen, Prismacolor markers, copic markers.

"Hatter" Micron pen, Primsacolor markers, copic markers.

"Excuse me?" HB pencil. Jack and Melody.

"Captain Jack" Micron pen, prismacolor markers, copic markers.

"After The Battle" Original character Ja'ack. Col-erase primsacolor pencils.
